General Information
Current TeamScheduleSynopsis of Current TeamThe Panthers return a slew of experienced players on both sides of the football. Offensively, the Panthers are Anchored by 6'4 270 lb senior tackle Eric Anderson, 6'4 270 lb. sophomore guard Andrew Simler, 5'10" 250 lb. senior tackle Joe Harmon and 6'0" 240 lb. senior center Randy Camp. The panthers main run threat will be handled by 3 year starting fullback Matt Carver. Carver was used mainly as a blocking back last season. However, his number will be called early and often in the 2007 campaign. The Panthers will call upon a talented, but inexperienced group of skill players. At Quarteback the Panthers return Junior Richard Armstrong. Armstrong was impressive as a back up for 2 seasons. This season Armstrongs task will not be easy. Replace the Panthers 4-year starter Josh Windell. Windell broke just about every Panther passing record in the book last season. Armstrong will compete with 2 young but talented quarterbacks. Sophomore Dillon Harrel was impressive in is late season starts on the JV team. Brandon Dunaway was equaly impressive as the starting QB for the Jr. High the past two seasons. Armstrong will rely on his leadership and intelligence to carry the panthers to a successful 2007 season. The Panthers recieving core will be tested early. With the graduation of stand out recievers Kyle White, Sean Eastride and Sean Conway, the panthers will be very young in 2007. The Panthers spread offense will allow many young recievers the opportunity to compete for a very important spot. The panthers look to greatly improve on a defensive unit that struggled in 2006. The panthers will shift thier focus to running a 5-2 Eagle defense. The defensive unit will return 7 players from last years young squad. The panthers defensive lineman of the year, Andrew Simler, will anchor a group that will be hungry to improve on last years performance. Leading tackler Matt Carver also returns as a brigth spot for the Panthers D. At 6'2 240 Ibs, Junior defensive lineman John Euschbacker came on strong late in 2006 to start the last 3 games of the season. Other notable returning starters are 6'3" 165 lb Outside Linebacker Julian Robinson, ILB Richard Armstrong, 6'0" 160 lb safety Dakota Cassel, DT Joe Harmon, and DT Eric Anderson. The Panthers turned the corner last season offensively. The 2007 season will need to turn the corner defensively to compete for top honors in the Mid Southern Conference.
